Privacy & Safety

Full Privacy Policy

For the detailed data collection, child privacy, parent rights, sharing, retention, and security policy, read the Story Spark Space Privacy Policy.

Parent-Controlled Accounts

Story Spark Space is designed for a parent or guardian to sign in with an email address, then create nickname-based child writer profiles under that parent account. Children should not use full names, emails, addresses, school names, phone numbers, photos, or location details in profiles or stories.

Private By Default

Stories are private to the parent account. The app does not include public galleries, comments, direct messaging, likes, follows, or public sharing links.

Data Controls

Parents can create and delete child writer profiles, export account data, and delete account story data from inside the app. When cloud storage is connected, the database is configured so each parent account can access only its own child profiles and stories.

Safety Checks

The app checks drafts for common private information patterns before manual saving, including email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, school names, and phrases such as “my full name is.” These checks are helpful, but they are not perfect. Parents should review children’s stories before exporting or sharing them anywhere else.

Ads, Tracking, And AI

The current app is designed without behavioral ads, social tracking, public posting, comments, likes, or public galleries. Illustration planning is available, but AI art generation is paused for launch testing. If AI generation is enabled later, it should require parent or teacher approval, active billing controls, prompt-safety checks, copyright safeguards, and review before any image is exported or shared.

Subscriptions And Billing

Paid plans should be processed only through a connected live Stripe checkout controlled by the adult account holder. Children do not need an email address, payment account, or billing access to write stories.

Launch Readiness

Before broad public use, the core flow should be tested with real parent, teacher, and student users: create account, add writer profile, student sign-in, create story, save, sign out, sign back in, preview book, delete, restore, export, and review privacy reminders.

Important Notice

This page is a product safety summary, not a substitute for attorney-reviewed Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Children’s Privacy Notice, billing terms, or COPPA compliance review. Those documents should be reviewed by qualified counsel before broad public launch.
