Adult account holders create and manage child writer profiles so students can write stories without needing their own email address.

Who Controls Child Accounts

Story Spark Space is designed around adult-controlled accounts. A parent, guardian, teacher, or authorized adult creates the main account and then creates child writer profiles with nicknames, usernames, and passwords. Children should not use full names, email addresses, school names, home addresses, phone numbers, photos, or precise location details in profiles or stories.

Information We Collect

Depending on how the app is used, Story Spark Space may collect or store the following information:

• Adult account information, such as email address and authentication records.
• Child writer profile information created by an adult, such as profile name or nickname, student username, avatar settings, and profile preferences.
• Story content, including titles, story plans, drafts, book pages, picture plans, revision history, notes, and writing progress.
• Classroom or family settings, such as writing task, age mode, skill focus, progress summaries, and dashboard preferences.
• Technical information needed to operate and secure the app, such as device/browser type, sign-in/session status, save errors, and security logs.
• Subscription and billing status for adult accounts if paid plans are enabled. Payment details are processed by Stripe and are not stored directly by Story Spark Space.
• Feedback submitted by adult users through the feedback form.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate the app, save stories, manage writer profiles, provide parent and teacher dashboards, support classroom tasks, improve reliability, prevent abuse, respond to feedback, process adult subscriptions, and protect child privacy and account security.

We do not use child story content for behavioral advertising. We do not provide public galleries, public comments, direct messaging, likes, follows, or public social profiles.

Children's Privacy

Story Spark Space is intended to be used with parent, guardian, teacher, or school involvement. The app is designed to limit child data collection and keep stories private by default. Children do not need an email address to use a writer profile.

Parents and authorized adults may review, export, correct, delete, or stop further use of child profile and story data through the app's dashboard tools. If school or classroom use is enabled, teachers should use the app only with appropriate school authorization and parent or guardian consent where required.

Parent And Teacher Choices

Adult account holders can:

• Create, edit, or delete child writer profiles.
• Set or reset student usernames and passwords.
• Open, save, export, or delete stories under their account.
• Restore recently deleted profiles or stories when available.
• Request deletion of account data.
• Manage subscription status when paid billing is enabled.

How We Share Information

Story Spark Space uses trusted service providers to operate the app. These may include Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for adult subscription billing, and OpenAI or another AI provider only if AI features are later enabled. Service providers are used to provide the app and should not use child data for their own advertising.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to investigate security issues, or to enforce app policies.

AI Features

AI illustration generation is currently paused for launch testing. If AI features are enabled later, Story Spark Space should use parent or teacher approval, prompt-safety checks, copyright safeguards, billing limits, and rules that prevent children from entering private personal information into AI prompts.

Cookies, Local Storage, And Similar Technology

The app may use browser storage, local storage, service workers, and authentication session storage to keep users signed in, save drafts, support offline-friendly behavior, remember dashboard preferences, and improve app reliability. Story Spark Space is designed without behavioral advertising cookies.

Data Retention

Story data and child profiles are retained while the adult account holder keeps them in the app. Deleted work may remain briefly in Recently Deleted or backups so it can be restored if removed by mistake. Data should be deleted when it is no longer needed to provide the service, when an adult account holder requests deletion, or when required by law.

Security

Story Spark Space uses account authentication, database access controls, and hosting security practices to help protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so adults should use strong passwords, keep student login cards private, and avoid placing sensitive personal details in stories.

No Sale Of Child Data

Story Spark Space does not sell child personal information. The app is designed without behavioral advertising, public social feeds, public story galleries, or child-directed ad targeting.

International And State Privacy Rights

Privacy rights can vary by location. Depending on where users live and how the service grows, additional state, national, or international privacy rules may apply. Adult account holders may request access, correction, export, or deletion of account data through available app tools or the privacy contact process.
